Stay

North Indian hotels are a mix. We like beautiful, family owned havelis, where courtyard architecture forms brilliant boutique hotel living. If we’re camping at a fair, we use tented villages set up especially with en-suite showers & loos. In Delhi we aim for upmarket guest houses. This keeps the pricing sensible. In South India, on the backwaters we use delicious houseboats, designed with the breeze in mind and waterway perspectives from your bedroom window. In the hills, there are warmly hospitable hotels with great panoramas.

sleep

Where you sleep is important to us.

Our hotels are carefully visited and vetted with the understanding that a good night’s sleep is vital.

Your hotel is your quiet escape, the calm, your oasis. Imagine waking up to a rooftop breakfast in Jaisalmer, or watching the school run by boat in the backwaters of Kerala. Small, informal, boutique hotels that celebrate the family and the quirky. These are the hotels we stay in. We want you to love them as much as we do.

We prefer to use air conditioned deluxe mini-buses, a chakara to explore Kerala’s smaller canals, and our feet. This is a more exciting photo than a cream minibus with leather seats, although our brilliant drivers might disagree. (Sorry, Moses).
